Editing software license information

Asset Management Suite

After you create a licensed software product, you can go back and edit its details when necessary. For example, you can create licenses for the same software product or add purchases to an existing license. You can also access and edit the full software license contract or the full software license purchase within the Asset Management Suite pages.

You can access the software products that you license in the Software view, under Licensed, Adobe, or Microsoft saved searches.

This task is a step in the process for managing your software license compliance using the Software view.

To edit software license information

  1. In the Symantec Management Console, on the Manage menu, click Software.

  2. In the list pane, click the software product that you want to edit.

  3. In the software details pane, click Manage Licenses.

  4. In the Software Product dialog box, on the Licenses tab, do one of the following:

    To create an additional license for the same software product.

    • Click Add License Purchase.

    • In the Add License Purchase dialog box, change the name of the license, enter the necessary information, and then click OK.

    Note that only when you change the Name of the software license a new license item is added to the software product.

    To add an additional purchase to an existing license.

    • Click the software license to which you want to add a purchase, and then click Add License Purchase.

    • In the Add License Purchase dialog box, enter the necessary information, and then click OK.

    To edit the full software license contract or the full software license purchase.

    • Click the software license or software purchase that you want to edit, and then click the Edit (yellow pencil) icon on the toolbar.

    • In the Add License Purchase dialog box, click Edit full software license contract or Edit full software license purchase.

    • In the Edit configuration item window, edit the details of the software license contract or software license purchase, and then click OK.

  5. In the Software Product dialog box, click OK.
