ITMS Installation and Upgrade

This topic includes information about the following:

Introduction to upgrade

An upgrade is when you replace the previous versions of the IT Management Suite (ITMS) with the latest version of ITMS using the same hardware, server operating system, and database

You can perform an upgrade from previous versions of IT Management Suite to the latest version under any of the following situations:

  • When you perform an upgrade on the same hardware of the server

  • When you plan to continue using the same server operating system

  • When both the IT Management Suite environments use the same IT Management Suite Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

A migration is when you migrate from IT Management Suite 7.0 or 6.x to IT Management Suite 7.5 SP1 on a new computer.
